The Vinton Garden Club member of the National Garden Clubs, Inc. Central Region, Federated Garden Clubs of Iowa, Inc. and District II met on April 25, 2012 at the new Nature Center. The speaker for the tour was Matt Perry.

Then members drove to the home of Fran Stueck for the meeting.

President Fran Stueck called the meeting to order. Members recited the pledge of Allegiance and the Conservation Pledge.

Ten members and one visitor answered roll call “:What was most interesting about the Nature Center.

Secretary Joyce Bratten read the March Minutes. There were no corrections so they stand as approved.

Treasurer Connie McClintock gave the treasurers’ report.

There were no questions for the Treasurer’s report so will be filed for audit.

Correspondences:

Letter from Green Scene at Waterloo. Plant sale at Cattle Congress grounds on May 12, 2012.

Committee Reports:

Connie gave up dates on the Cedar Valley Ranch, the book reading and seed planting at all the preschools in Vinton.

Unfinished Business:

Plans finalized on the District II meeting being held in Independence, IA on April 27, 2012.

Fran thanked all the members who helped with the plant and bake sale

New Business:

State Meeting being held June 21-22 at Pella, IA.

Committees set up to plant the town planters. To have them done by end of May.

Next meeting will be May 30, 2012 at the Marriott in C.R.

There was no more business so president Fran Stueck adjourned the meeting.
