On Monday, April 23rd, the afternoon activity was a Pepper Card Party. There were 4 tables of players. Annie Hopkins won 1st place with 324 points. Clete Friedman won 2nd place with 275 points. Greta Geiken won 3rd place with 265 points. After cards, refreshments were served by the card club and HACAP provided the beverages.
On Tuesday, April 24th, the afternoon musical entertainment was provided by Bob Hauser.
On Wednesday, April 25th, the activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller and Evelyn Greenwood handpicked the games. Game one was a 9-Pack with Orville Ellingson winning. Game two was Four Corners and Frame the Free Spot with George Eckhart as the winner. Game three was a Picnic Table with Marian Isabel as the winner. Game four was a Layer Cake with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Orville Ellingson won game five with Blackout.
On Thursday, April 26th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Vickie Holst was the volunteer caller. The games were handpicked by JoAnn Roster. Game one was the Letter “T” with Hazel Eastwood winning. Game two was Frame the Card with Faye Goodell winning. Game three was Wild Number Three Bingos with Faye Goodell winning. Game four was the Letter “M” with JoAnn Roster winning. George Eckhart won game five with Blackout.
On Friday, April 27th, the afternoon activity was a 500 Card Party. There were 5 tables of players. Milo Cobb won 1st place with 3,150 points. Margorie Foster won 2nd place with 2,960 points. Clete Friedman and Merle Roths tied for 3rd place with 2,690 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by the Card Club and beverages were provided by HACAP.
On Monday, April 30th, there were 5 tables of Pepper Cards played. Merle Roths took 1st place with 316 points. Bill Milne won 2nd place with 304 points. Don Selken won 3rd place with 291 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.
On Tuesday, May 1st, the activity of the day was Surprise Bingo. The volunteer caller was Maureen Haisman. The games were handpicked by Dora Vogt. Game one was Two Regular Bingos with Faye Goodell winning candy. Game two was 9 Numbers No Free Spot with Marge Goodell winning a cup. Game three was a Three Layer Cake with Marion Isabel winning Emergency Contacts. Game four was the Letter “Z” with JoAnn Roster winning dish cloths. Norma Ellis won a meal ticket on game five with Blackout.
On Wednesday, May 2nd, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller and Mae Wilhelmi handpicked the games. Game one was Diagonal and Four Corners with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Game two was Wild Number Three Bingos with Elsie Knaack winning. Game three was a 9-Pack with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Game four was Two Hardway Bingos with Greta Geiken winning. Faye Goodell won game five with Blackout.

On Friday, May 4th, the activity was a 500 Card Party. There were 6 tables of card players. Bud Barr won 1st place with 3,630 points. Geri Shaffer won 2nd place with 2,970 points. Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse (regardless of age) is $2.75 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $3.75 for theibr meal. Carryout meals are available. We deliver meals to Vinton, Newhall, Urbana, and Garrison/Mt Auburn. The suggested contribution is $3.00/meal if you are 60 or older. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements. Delivery is throughout Benton County. Please call 319-472-4761 for more information about services or to reserve a table for groups of 3c or more.
Each month the 4th St Diner has a special day set aside to celebrate birthdays for that month. It is always scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday Table are entered into the door prize drawing. We currently have two door prizes scheduled for each month. The first is $5 in Vinton Unlimited Value Dollars generously donated by Vinton Unlimited. The second is a gift certificate for a free 4th Street Diner meal. Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761. Reservations need to be made by 10:00 AM on the day of the celebration.
