On Monday, June 4th, the afternoon activity was a Pepper Card Party. There were 4 tables of players. Don Selken won 1st place with 304 points. Clete Friedman won 2nd place with 254 points. Geri Shaffer won 3rd place with 218 points. After cards, refreshments were served by the card club. Esther Novotny brought summer sausage and crackers to share. HACAP provided the beverages.

On Tuesday, June 5th, the afternoon activity was Surprise Bingo. The volunteer caller was Linda Lough. Clete Friedman handpicked the games. Game one was a Flag with Elsie Knaack winning a note pad. Game two was a 9-Pack with Faye Goodell winning a memo holder. Game three was Wild Number Three Bingos with George Eckhart winning note cards. Game four was a Baseball with Clete Friedman winning candy. JoAnn Roster won a meal ticket on game five with Blackout.

On Wednesday, June 6th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Linda Lough was the volunteer caller and Elsie Knaack handpicked the games. Game one was Frame the Free Spot and Four Corners with Faye Goodell winning. Game two was a 9-Pack with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Game three was Stair Steps with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Game four was a Telephone Pole with Orville Elingson winning. Greta Geiken won game five with Blackout.

On Thursday, June 7th, we welcomed the Jolly Dozen as our guests. The afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Clete Friedman was the volunteer caller. The games were handpicked by June Salerno. Game one was the Letter “X” with June Salerno and Orville Ellingson winning. Game two was Wild Number Three Bingos with Ruth Wieditz and Phyllis Ebert winning. Game three was Outside Picture Frame with Ruth Wieditz winning. Game four was a 9-Pack with Faye Goodell winning. June Salerno and Ruth Wieditz won game five with Blackout.

On Friday, June 8th, there were 5 tables of 500 played. Geri Shaffer won 1st place with 3,840 points. Nellie Cobb won 2nd place with 3,760 points. Wilma Lutsch won 3rd place with 3,390 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Margaret Fuehrer donated cards. Beverages were provided by HACAP.

On Monday, June 11th, the activity was a Pepper Card Party. There were 5 tables of players. Greta Geiken won 1st place with 283 points. Margaret Fuehrer won 2nd place with 271 points. Geri Shaffer won 3rd place with 268 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Bill Milne brought ice cream bars to share. Beverages were provided by HACAP.

On Tuesday, June 12th, we celebrated all the June Birthdays. Those honored were Virginia Bistline, who won the free meal gift certificate and Faye Goodell, who won Vinton Value Dollars. Stuart Gulick provided the afternoon musical entertainment.

On Wednesday, June 13th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller and Ruth Wieditz handpicked the games. Game one was Four Postage Stamps with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Game two was Stair Steps with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Game three was Wild Number Three Bingos with George Eckhart winning. Game four was Around the Free Space and Four Corners with Mae Wilhelmi winning. June Salerno won game five with Blackout.

Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. A choice of salads is available on the buffet.

Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse (regardless of age) is $2.75 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $3.75 for their meal. Carryout meals are available. We deliver meals to Vinton, Newhall, Urbana, and Garrison/Mt Auburn. The suggested contribution is $3.00/meal if you are 60 or older. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements. Delivery is throughout Benton County. Please call 319-472-4761 for more information about services or to reserve a table for groups of 3c or more.

Each month the 4th St Diner has a special day set aside to celebrate birthdays for that month. It is always scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday Table are entered into the door prize drawing. We currently have two door prizes scheduled for each month. The first is $5 in Vinton Unlimited Value Dollars generously donated by Vinton Unlimited. The second is a gift certificate for a free 4th Street Diner meal. Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761. Reservations need to be made by 10:00 AM on the day of the celebration.
