T’was just another boring eve;
We planned to see a movie.
A date night you could call it;
Just me and my wife Suzy.
A brand new movie set to start;
It wasn’t in our town.
We thought about which one to see,
Then decided we’d stay home.
We woke up early the next day.
We heard the shocking news.
About a renegade shooter,
The lives, that some did lose.
A man sneaks in with mask in place,
Armor, gas, and more.
Guns and ammo he would need,
To make a house of gore.
The innocent who tried to leave,
Were shot down where they stood.
They tried to hide beneath the seats,
Or anywhere they could.
The man was very well prepared ,
To live through all the mess.
But what he didn’t realize,
His plan was just a guess.
Children, men, and women too,
Were shot and hurt and harmed.
Some had died and some were maimed,
The man thought “all be darned”.
So why does one commit such acts,
To those who’ve hurt no one.
All they wanted was to see,
A movie; have some fun.
I can’t explain just what went on,
Or how it all will end.
But I can tell the “hurt” involved,
Will have comfort as you mend.
Please take this chance and pray for all,
This nightmare is not over.
There’re funerals that must be planned,
While injured can recover.
Pray for them, for strength and healing.
That they may understand.
No matter what may happen here,
God has the final plan
