Since July 17, Maple Four has been assisting with programming at The SuAnne Big Crow Boys and Girls Club in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. The SuAnne Big Crow Boys and Girls Club is named after the late SuAnne Big Crow, which serves the needs of kids residing within the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
Maple Four is assisting with programming in departments which include, Character and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development, The Arts, Health and Life Skills and Sports Fitness and Recreation. Each team member is assigned to manage various rooms including, the music room, the gymnasium, the arts and crafts room, the computer room, the game room and the library. Other tasks involve trying to get youth to join the club through recruitment, setting up a schedule for the kids during the day, landscaping and promoting the club.
Maple Four member Kiely Hultgren is enjoying her responsibility of working in the arts and crafts room helping kids enhance their self-expression and creativity.
SuAnne Big Crow Boys and Girls Club Executive Director Frank Smith says, “As new faces of Pine Ridge children enter the SuAnne Big Crow Boys and Girls Club, and as returning ones continue to arrive with smiles. I am certain Maple Four is leaving their mark.”
