Amanda Martin is originally from Waterloo, Iowa but currently resides in Vinton. Amanda received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Clarke University in Dubuque and her Master of Arts in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Iowa State University. Amanda served two years as an AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) member at the Volunteer Center of Story County, providing volunteer recruitment and training. After her term of service was over, Amanda was hired full time as the Associate Director.
Amanda has worked with a variety of service organizations and college students. Her passion for service and assisting young people led her to seek a position with the AmeriCorps NCCC. Amanda is excited for the opportunity to learn more about the organization and help members continue their active citizenship.
Amanda has been hired as the Member Development Associate for the North Central Region. Her responsibilities include supporting the Program Office and working directly with the Training Specialist and Assistant Program Director for Training in assisting members with their Life After AmeriCorps plans as well as working with them on recognizing their strengths and improvements.
