Hunter Gerths of Albia won Grand Champion Market Lamb honors in 4-H Market and Performance Lamb show on Monday at the 2012 Iowa State Fair. Gerths' lamb was first named Division 4 Champion.

In addition, Gerths's Division 3 Champion lamb received Third Honorable Mention.

Brooke Kuesel of Victor exhibited the Reserve Grand Champion Market Lamb, which stood second in the Division 4 Championship to Gerths's lamb. Kuesel's Reserve Champion Division 5 lamb also earned Second Honorable Mention.

Cody Wynn of Albia earned First Honorable Mention for his Division 5 Champion Heavyweight.

In the Performance Show, Beth Zuber of Marengo exhibited the Grand Champion Performance Lamb, while Lexie Berry of Sac City showed the Reserve Grand Champion Performance Lamb.

Gerths's and Kuesel's title holders, as well as 12 other livestock champions, will be auctioned in the prestigious Sale of Champions on Saturday, August 18, at 2 p.m. in the Penningroth Media Center of the Cattle Barn. The event is sponsored by the Iowa Foundation for Agricultural Advancement, a non-profit organization established to encourage the pursuit of agriculture-related careers by Iowa's youth.
