On Monday, July 23rd, the afternoon activity was a Pepper Card Party. There were 5 tables of players. Patty McKenna won 1st place with 262 points. Don Selken won 2nd place with 261 points. Frances Kelly won 3rd place with 254 points. After cards, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.
On Tuesday, July 24th, Bob Hauser provided the afternoon musical entertainment.
On Wednesday, July 25th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. The volunteer caller was Wendy Pennington. Phyllis Ebert handpicked the games. Game one was the Letter “X” with Marian Isabel winning. Game two was a 9-Pack with Mae Wilhelmi as the winner. Game three was All Around the Free Spot and Four Corners with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Game four was the Letter “T” with Phyllis Ebert winning. Hazel Eastwood won game five with Blackout.
On Friday, July 27th, there were 6 tables of 500 played. Bud Barr won 1st place with 3,500 points. Merle Roths won 2nd place with 2,730 points. Glen Kester won 3rd place with 2,710 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.
On Monday, July 30th, there were 5 tables of Pepper Cards played. Clete Friedman won 1st place with 285 points. Lois Romman won 2nd place with 226 points. Frances Kelly won 3rd place with 215 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.
On Tuesday, July 31st, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. The volunteer caller was Maureen Haisman. JoAnn Roster handpicked the games. Game one was Frame the Card with June Salerno winning. Game two was the Letter “I” with Phyllis Ebert winning. Game three was Wild Number Three Bingos with Ruth Wieditz winning. Game four was Crazy with Marion Isabel winning. Wanda, Greta Geiken, and JoAnn Roster all won game five with Blackout.
On Wednesday, August 1st, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Ruth Wieditz handpicked the games. Game one was the Letter “I” with Clete Friedman as the winner. Game two was Wild Number Three Bingos with George Eckhart winning. Game three was a 9-Pack with Mae Wilhelmi as the winner. Game four was 4 Postage Stamps with Greta Geiken, Ruth Wieditz, and Faye Goodell winning. June Salerno won game five with Blackout.
On Thursday, August 2nd, Barb Riggle and Larry Roster provided the afternoon musical entertainment.
On Friday, August 3rd, the afternoon activity was a 500 card party with 5 tables of players. First place went to Glen Kester with 3,490 points. Don Burmeister won 2nd place with 3,170 points. Bernadine Barr won 3rd place with 3,120 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by the Card Club. Bill Milne and Esther Novotny brought cookies to share. Beverages were provided by HACAP.

Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. A choice of salads is available on the buffet.
Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse (regardless of age) is $2.75 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $3.75 for their meal. Carryout meals are available. We deliver meals to Vinton, Newhall, Urbana, and Garrison/Mt Auburn. The suggested contribution is $3.00/meal if you are 60 or older. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements. Delivery is throughout Benton County. Please call 319-472-4761 for more information about services or to reserve a table for groups of 3c or more.
Each month the 4th St Diner has a special day set aside to celebrate birthdays for that month. It is always scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday Table are entered into the door prize drawing. We currently have two door prizes scheduled for each month. The first is $5 in Vinton Unlimited Value Dollars generously donated by Vinton Unlimited. The second is a gift certificate for a free 4th Street Diner meal. Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761. Reservations need to be made by 10:00 AM on the day of the celebration.
