Name: Dane Gellerup
Hometown: Berlin, Wis.
Dane is serving as a member of the NCCC FEMA Corps team Spruce 4 at the Vinton Campus. He chose to participate in AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps because he wanted to experience new things and go places he has never been before.
Dane graduated from Berlin High School in 2007 and the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in genetics and a certificate in computer science. After his service term ends he hopes to attend graduate school.
Dane gained a lot of experience with biological science and computers during college. He has been involved with professional genetic research and developed several different mobile applications for Android smart phones.
