Et cetera : VSHS NHS inducts new members

Celebrating the qualities of scholarship, character, leadership and service, the Vinton-Shellsburg High School National Honor Society Chapter officially welcomed its new members during the induction ceremony Tuesday evening in the VSHS auditorium.

Current members escorted the new inductees onto the stage; NHS officers led the ceremony. Amy Van Wechel, a 2000 VSHS graduate, was the special guest speaker.

New members include seniors Haily Dulin and Parker Oltrogge. New Junior members are: Jacob Bunge, Mikayla Dearden, Carley Deklotz, Madison Elwick, Elizabeth Fischer, Sam Huss, Benjamin Hyland, Jacob Isbell, Mara Jessen, Sara Jorgenen, Karley Kenney Matthew Lash, Emma Lippmann, Elizabeth McGee, Ashley McKenna, Wyatt Meyer, Luke Moen, Lucas Murray, Chase Overton, Jacob Patrilla Jacob Reisch, Dylan Rippel, Rickey Russell, Nolan Sagan, Hannah Seitz, Tanner Spies, Kayla Taylor and Griffin Williams.

Current members include: Claire Andreesen, Devon Ankney, Stephanie Berry, Whitney Bohnsack, Hannah Cayto, Madelyn Cornell, Tayler Dinerman, Erica Engbretson, Max Griffith, Cara Hach, William Hancock, Katie Hanson, Katherine Heidt, Tyler Johnson, Paula Kalina, Natalie Ketchen, Bailey Leonard, Jenae Long, Bailey Lyons, Alexis Peterson, Erin Randall, Grant Sagan, Kacie Struve, Megan Ternus, Amber Tollefson, Hunter Vogt and Makayla Westendorf.

Officers are: President Natalie Ketchen, Vice President Kacie Struve, Secretary Whitney Bohnsack and Treasurer Claire Andreesen. The Executive Committee includes Devon Ankney, Cara Hach, Katie Hanson, Katherine Heidt, Bailey Leonard, Bailey Lyons, Alexis Peterson and Megan Ternus. Cynthia Chyma is the VSHS NHS sponsor.
