By: Rachel Lebeaux Name: Carson Frame Hometown: Brandon, Florida Carson is currently serving as a member of Maple 2 with the AmeriCorps NCCC at the Vinton Campus. Carson wants to have a direct and positive impact on her country. She wants to become better acquainted with the problems facing American communities and be a part of the solution. Carson graduated from Bloomingdale High School in June 2007 and the University of South Florida in August 2011 with Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and British and American Literature. Prior to NCCC, Carson was working at a department store and writing her essay for Graduate School applications. She was also relishing her free time cooking, reading and hanging out with friends. After her term of service, Carson would like to either get her Master of Fine Arts in fiction writing or apply for a job with the FBI or other intelligence agencies. Carson and her team are currently serving in Minot, N.D. with Lutheran Disaster Services. They are assisting with mucking, gutting and sanitizing homes that were destroyed in last year’s floods. Prior to this project, Maple 2 was removing invasive species with the Hamilton County Parks and Rec in Noblesville, Ind. They also worked in Hamilton, Ohio with SELF performing home repairs on low income housing and Great River Outreach in Savannah, Ill. with fence and road repairs.
