Name: Min Yi

Hometown: Columbus, Ga.

Min is serving as a member of the NCCC FEMA Corps team Hickory 1 at the Vinton Campus. He chose to participate in NCCC FEMA Corps because he wanted to commit to a long-term service opportunity.

Min graduated from Mandarin High School in 2007 and Florida State University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in biology and computational biology. After his service term ends he hopes to apply for medical school and eventually become a doctor.

Min recently went on a mission trip to Nicaragua where he saw firsthand how bad the living conditions were in the smaller, poorer cities. This experience taught him that there is so much he takes for granted in America and inspired him to continue serving and giving back.
