Et cetera : AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps Class 19 Member Spotlight: Alex Bradt

Name: Alex Bradt

Hometown: Oxford, Conn.

Alex is serving as a member of the NCCC FEMA Corps team Hickory 7 at the Vinton Campus. He chose to participate in AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps because he wanted to take some time to give back to the community before attending college.

Alex graduated from Nonnewuag High School in June 2012 and plans to attend college after his service term ends. He is really interested in cinematography and hopes to document his time in the NCCC FEMA Corps program through video.

This past summer Alex went on a mission trip to Guatemala, an experience that profoundly affected him. He says that his time abroad taught him to appreciate everything that he has and fostered a strong desire to help the less fortunate. He says, “I believe that I can and will make a difference in this world.”
