Name: Dan Tuttle

Hometown: North Brookfield, Mass.

Dan is serving as a member of the NCCC FEMA Corps team Pine 6 at the Vinton Campus. He chose to participate in AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps because he is interested in working with nonprofits and developed an interest in disaster relief work following the Haiti earthquake.

Dan graduated from Quabbin Regional High School in June 2012. After his service term ends he hopes to continue exploring volunteer opportunities as well as continue studying art.

After graduation from high school in June Dan traveled to Ghana to work on a volunteer building project through an organization called Projects Abroad. As part of this experience he lived with a host family and worked on building construction sites in a remote residential region near Accra. Dan says that his time in Ghana was life changing and has strengthened his passion for volunteering and travel.
