Et cetera : AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps Class 19 Member Spotlight: LeeAnne Jones

Name: LeeAnne Jones

Hometown: St. Peters, Mo.

LeeAnne is serving as a member of the NCCC FEMA Corps team Pine 5 at the Vinton Campus. She chose to participate in AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps because she has always enjoyed helping people and wanted to travel and experience things that she couldn’t do in her own backyard.

LeeAnne graduated from Fort Zumwalt West High School in 2007. After her service term ends she hopes to find a job working in disaster relief or something environmental-related.

In 2011 LeeAnne served in NCCC at the Perry Point Campus where she served in Tuscaloosa, Alabama after it was hit by a tornado. This was her first experience doing disaster-related work and it provided her with an opportunity to gain leadership skills by managing volunteers.
