Et cetera : Knights of Columbus aid ARC, Special Olympics with Tootsie Roll Campaign

The K of C donated to the local Special Olympics team after their Tootsie Roll fund-raiser.

The Vinton Knights of Columbus recently completed the annual Persons With Intellectual Disabilities fundraiser in Vinton. Knights were stationed outside area Fareway, Theisen’s, Dollar General and Alco stores collecting donations and handing out Tootsie Rolls.

The team serves nearly 40 athletes from the Vinton-Shellsburg, Benton Community and Center Point-Urbana school districts. Last year the ARC helped 59 children and adults from Benton County by providing Summer Day Camp, Supported Community Living, and Respite services.
