Et cetera : Daffodil Days: Area ACS volunteers taking orders now

Every year the American Cancer Society Daffodil Days program brings hope to people with cancer, and to their friends and families across the country. With your support we can continue helping those touched by cancer and empowering people to fight back against this disease. Together, we are creating a world with less cancer and more birthdays.

To participate in Daffodil Days, make a donation and receive beautiful daffodils for yourself, or share them with someone special. You can place your order with an American Cancer Society volunteer. In Vinton contact Frieda Davis at 472-5348, Nancy Baldwin at 472-2241 or Rex Shepherd at 472-4854. Orders must be placed before February 13th. Deliver will be the week of March 11-15, 2013 (weather permitting).

Daffodil Days is about sharing hope for a world with less cancer and more birthdays, where cancer never steals another year from anyone’s life. By giving daffodils to friends, family members, and even cancer patients, you are really giving hope because together, we are helping people stay well, helping people get well, finding cures, and fighting back.

Available to order are:

Bunch of Daffodils for $10. With your $10 donation, you will receive approximately 10 cut fresh daffodils.

Bunch and a vase for $15 donation. You’ll receive approximately 10 gorgeous cut daffodils and a specially chosen vase.

Dainty Daffodils for $15 donation.. Replantable miniature daffodil bulbs – and their container – which are perfect for display on your desk or tabletop.

Bear and a Bunch for donation of $25; ‘Ray O. Hope’, a bear by Enesco especially for the American Cancer Society Daffodil Days. This limited edition bear comes with a beautiful bunch of daffodils!

Gift of Hope for $25 donation. Honor a cancer survivor today by supporting the Gift of Hope program. The ACS will anonymously deliver beautiful bouquets of daffodils arranged in vases to local cancer patients.

Bear Hugs of Hope for $25 donation. You help ACS anonymously deliver our special. Limited edition Boyd’s Bear to local children touched by cancer.

Sunshine Bouquet for $75 donation. Filled with 6 bouquets of vibrant daffodils and fresh greenery, this arrangement features a beautiful glass vase, perfect for reception areas, conference tables, places of worship, or your home.
