The 4th Street Diner meal on Sunday, January 20th, will be Roast Pork, Mashed Potato/Gravy, Spinach, Peaches, Custard, WW Bread, Milk.
On Monday, December 10th, the activity of the day was a Pepper Card Party. There were five tables of players. Frances Kelly won 1st place with 212 points. Dora Vogt and Margaret Fuehrer tied for 2nd place with 207 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.
On Tuesday, December 11th, we celebrated all the December birthdays. Those honored with birthdays were LouAnn Hunt, Tom Lanham, and Mike Scheib. Tom won a free meal and LouAnn won $5 in Vinton Value Dollars. The afternoon musical entertainment was provided by Stuart Gulick.
On Wednesday, December 12th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller. Marion Isbell handpicked the games. Game one was a 9-Pack with JoAnn Roster winning. Game two was the Letter “X” with Paul Fix winning. Game three was B-N-O with Greta Geiken winning. Game four was Four Postage Stamps with George Eckhart winning. JoAnn Roster won game five with Blackout.
On Thursday, December 13th, the afternoon musical entertainment was provided by Riggle/Roster Music.
On Friday, December 14th, there were 5 tables of 500 played. Margaret Fuehrer won 1st place with 3,110 points. Milo Cobb won 2nd place with 2,910 points. Glen Kester won 3rd place with 2,890 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.
On Monday, December 17th, there were 4 tables of Pepper Cards played. Merle Roths won 1st place with 324 points. Bernadine Barr won 2nd place with 310 points. Geri Shaffer won 3rd place with 306 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP. Patty McKenna and Hazel Eastwood brought cookies to share.
On Tuesday, December 18th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Maureen Haisman was the volunteer caller. June Salerno handpicked the games. Game one was the Letter “X” with Marvin Witt winning. Game two was Wild Number Three Bingos with Greta Geiken winning. Game three was All Around the Outside with Elsie Knaack, George Eckhart, and Geri Shaffer winning. Game four was the Letter “T” with Elsie Knaack winning. Ruth Wieditz, Elsie Knaack, and JoAnn Roster won game five with Blackout.
On Wednesday, December 19th, the afternoon entertainment was provided by Judy Mehlert Music.
On Wednesday, December 26th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo.
On Thursday, December 27th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Vickie Holst was the volunteer caller and she handpicked the games. Game one was a 9-Pack with Dora Vogt as the winner. Game two was the Letter “H” with Ruth Wieditz and June Salerno as the winners. Game three was a Layer Cake with JoAnn Roster winning. Game four was Wild Number Three Bingos with June Salerno winning. Dora Vogt won game five with Blackout.
On Friday, December 28th, the afternoon activity was a 500 Card Party with 3 tables of players. Merle Roths won 1st place with 3,520 points. Leroy Weiser won 2nd place with 3,370 points. Bud Barr won 3rd place with 2,480 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Geri Shaffer brought candy balls to share. Beverages were provided by HACAP.

Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. A choice of salads is available on the buffet.
Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse (regardless of age) is $2.75 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $3.75 for their meal. Carryout meals are available. We deliver meals to Vinton, Newhall, Urbana, and Garrison/Mt Auburn. The suggested contribution is $3.00/meal if you are 60 or older. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements. Delivery is throughout Benton County. Please call 319-472-4761 for more information about services or to reserve a table for groups of 3c or more.
Each month the 4th St Diner has a special day set aside to celebrate birthdays for that month. It is always scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday Table are entered into the door prize drawing. We currently have two door prizes scheduled for each month. The first is $5 in Vinton Unlimited Value Dollars generously donated by Vinton Unlimited. The second is a gift certificate for a free 4th Street Diner meal. Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761. Reservations need to be made by 10:00 AM on the day of the celebration.
