Name: Jeana DiBona

Hometown: Hanover, Mass.

Jeana is serving as a member of the NCCC FEMA Corps team Pine 2 at the Vinton Campus. She chose to participate in AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps because she wanted to take some time off from school after graduation to travel the country while helping people.

Jeana graduated from Hanover High School in June 2012 and started taking independent study courses through FEMA. After her service term ends she plans to attend Plymouth State University. She anticipates continuing her education in emergency management and potentially working for FEMA someday

During Jeana’s junior and senior year of high school she volunteered with the Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation. The organization’s mission is to match bone marrow donors to patients suffering from leukemia. As a volunteer she administered cheek swab tests to help find potential donors. She says that this experience has shaped the person she is today and motivated her to participate in AmeriCorps.
