Et cetera : AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps Class 19 Member Spotlight: Alyssa Bachman

Name: Alyssa Bachman

Hometown: New Prague, Minn.

Alyssa is serving as a member of the NCCC FEMA Corps team Hickory 7 at the Vinton Campus. She chose to participate in AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps because serving others is a passion of hers and she was looking for an opportunity to challenge herself.

Alyssa graduated from New Prague High School this past June. After her service term ends she plans to attend Winona State University in Minnesota. While there she hopes to major in nursing and eventually work for the Red Cross.

Service is an integral part of Alyssa’s life. During high school she participated on four mission trips and many service projects with her church, which she says shaped the person she is today. Some of the communities she has served include the Red Lake Indian Reservation in Minn., Denver, Chicago and Marvell, Alaska.
