The 4th Street Diner meal on Sunday, May 5th, will be Roast Turkey, Mashed Potatoes/Gravy, Broccoli, Mixed Green Salad, Blushing Pears, Cake, WW Bread, Milk.

On Monday, April 8th, there were 4 tables of Pepper Cards played. First place went to Hazel Eastwood with 277 points. Don Selken took a close 2nd place with 249 points. Third place went to Annie Hopkins with 229 points. After the games, refreshments were served by Card Club. Hazel Eastwood brought birthday cake to share with everyone. Beverages were provided by HACAP.

On Tuesday, April 9th, we celebrated all the April birthdays. Those honored were Hazel Eastwood who brought 5 guests, Marj Pepin who brought 4 guests, Don Dvorak with 7 guests, Phyllis Ebert and guest, and Virginia Moser. Virginia was the winner of the free meal. Stuart Gulick provided the afternoon musical entertainment.

On Wednesday, April 10th, the activity of the day was 10-Cent Bingo. Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller. The games were handpicked by Hazel Eastwood. Game one was Wild Number Three Bingos with Elsie Knaack winning. Game two was a 9-Pack with Norma Ellis winning. Game three was Stair Steps with June Salerno winning. Game four was a Crazy “T” with Elsie Knaack as the winner. George Eckhart won game five with Blackout.

On Thursday, April 11th, the activity of the day was 10-Cent Bingo. Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller. Elsie Knaack handpicked the games. Game one was Four Postage Stamps with Maybeth Graham winning. Game two was a 9-Pack with June Salerno winning. Game three was the Letter “E” with Phyllis Ebert winning. Game four was a Straight Line Four Corners with George Eckhart winning. Geri Shaffer won game five with Blackout.

On Friday, April 12th, there were 4 tables of 500 Cards played. Irene Geiger took first place with 3,500 points. Second place went to Leroy Weiser with 3,380 points. Third place went to Wilma Loutsch with 3,000 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by the Card Club. HACAP provided the beverages.

On Monday, April 15th, the activity of the day was a Pepper Card Party. There were 5 tables of players. Hazel Eastwood won first place with 292 points. Bernadine Barr won second place with 268 points. Leroy Weiser took third place with 264 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.

On Tuesday, April 16th, the activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Maureen Haisman was the volunteer caller. Hazel Eastwood handpicked the games. Game one was a 9-Pack with June Salerno winning. Game two was Stair Steps with June Salerno winning. Game three was Las Vegas Wild Number with JoAnn Roster winning. Game four was the Letter “X” with Faye Goodell as the winner. Faye Goodell won game five with Blackout.

On Wednesday, April 17th, the afternoon musical entertainment was provided by Judy Mehlert.

On Thursday, April 18th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo with Roger O’Connell as the volunteer caller. Elmer and Beverly Stein handpicked the games. Game one was Popeye with JoAnn Roster as the winner. Game two was a 9-Pack with Wild Number and George Eckhart was the winner. Game three was Four Postage Stamps with JoAnn Roster as the winner. Game four was Shotgun with Norma Ellis winning. Geri Shaffer won game five with Blackout.

On Friday, April 19th, there were 5 tables of 500 played. Don Selken won 1st place with 3,260 points. Geri Shaffer won 2nd place with 3,050 points. Leroy Weiser won 3rd place with 2,470 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Hazel brought rice crispy treats to share. Beverages were provided by HACAP.

Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. A choice of salads is available on the buffet.

Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse (regardless of age) is $2.75 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $3.75 for their meal. Carryout meals are available. We deliver meals to Vinton, Newhall, Urbana, and Garrison/Mt Auburn. The suggested contribution is $3.00/meal if you are 60 or older. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements. Delivery is throughout Benton County. Please call 319-472-4761 for more information about services or to reserve a table for groups of 3c or more.

Each month the 4th St Diner has a special day set aside to celebrate birthdays for that month. It is always scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday Table are entered into the door prize drawing. We currently have two door prizes scheduled for each month. The first is $5 in Vinton Unlimited Value Dollars generously donated by Vinton Unlimited. The second is a gift certificate for a free 4th Street Diner meal. Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761. Reservations need to be made by 10:00 AM on the day of the celebration.
