The 4th Street Diner meal on Sunday, October 13th will be Baked Chicken, Mashed Potatoes/Gravy, Corn, Mandarin Oranges, Cake, WW Bread, Milk.

On Monday, August 12th, there were five tables of Pepper Cards were played. First place went to Patti McKenna with 271 points. Darlene Werning won 2ndplace with 234 points. Third place went to Don Selken with 217 points. After the games, refreshments were served by Card Club. Beverages were provided byHACAP.

On Tuesday, August 13th, we celebrated all the August birthdays. Those honored for having August birthdays were Erma Neve, Bev Bearbower, GaryBearbower, Mary Rogers, Peggy Schott, Bertha Pohlman, Hazel Merchant, and Arlene Merchant. Hazel Merchant was the winner of the gift certificate. StuartGulick provided the afternoon musical entertainment.

On Wednesday, August 14th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller. Marion Isbell handpicked the games. Game one was a 9-Pack with George Eckhart winning. Game two was Wild Number Three Bingos with JoAnn Roster winning. Game three was Frame the Free Spot and Four Corners with Marion Isbell winning. Game four was a Flag with FayeGoodell and Elsie Knaack as the winners. Faye Goodell and Marion Isbell won game five with Blackout.

On Thursday, August 15th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Vickie Holstwas the volunteer caller. Frances Kelly handpicked the games. Game one was All Around the Free Spot and Four Corners with Frances Kelly winning. Game two was a 9-Pack with Hazel Eastwood winning. Game three was Free Number and Three Bingos with Greta Geiken winning. Game four was a 3 Layer Cake with Elsie Knaack as the winner. Hazel Eastwood won game five with Blackout.

On Friday, August 16th, there were four tables of 500 Cards were played. DonSelken won 1st place with 2,710 points. Milo Cobb won 2nd place with 2,420 points. Bernadine Barr won 3rd place with 2,420 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by the Card Club. HACAP provided the beverages.

On Monday, August 19th, there were four tables of Pepper Cards were played. Bernadine Barr and Don Selken tied for 1st place with 274 points. Geri Shaffer took 3rd place with 255 points. Refreshments were provided by Card Club and beverages provided by HACAP.

On Tuesday, August 20th, the afternoon musical entertainment was provided by Judy Mehlert.

On Thursday, August 22nd, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Vickie Holst was the volunteer caller. Norma Ellis and Frances Kelly handpicked the games. Game one was Frame the Free and Four Corners with Elsie Knaack winning. Game two was a 9-Pack with Greta Geiken as the winner. Game three was Free Number Three Bingos with George Eckhart winning. Game four was a Three Layer Cake with Greta Geiken winning. Greta Geiken won game five with Blackout.

On Friday, August 23rd, there were six tables of 500 played. Evelyn Greenwood won 1st place with 3,880 points. Don Selken won 2nd place with 3,230 points. Hazel Eastwood won 3rd place with 3,100 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.

Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. A choice of salads is available on the buffet.

Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse (regardless of age) is $2.75 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $3.75 for their meal. Carryout meals are available. We deliver meals to Vinton, Newhall, Urbana, and Garrison/Mt Auburn. The suggested contribution is $3.00/meal if you are 60 or older. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements. Delivery is throughout Benton County. Please call 319-472-4761 for more information about services or to reserve a table for groups of 3c or more.

Each month the 4th St Diner has a special day set aside to celebrate birthdays for that month. It is always scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday Table are entered into the door prize drawing. We currently have two door prizes scheduled for each month. The first is $5 in Vinton Unlimited Value Dollars generously donated by Vinton Unlimited. The second is a gift certificate for a free 4th Street Diner meal. Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761. Reservations need to be made by 10:00 AM on the day of the celebration.
