Et cetera : VSHS grad Jacob Isbell honored at Governor\'s Scholar ceremony

Governor's Scholar honoree: Jacob Isbell with Gov. Branstad and Lt. Gov. Reynolds.

Vinton-Shelslburg High School senior Jacob Isbell was among 435 high school seniors from across Iowa who were honored Sunday, April 27, 2014, at the 12th Annual Governor’s Scholar Recognition Ceremony, in Des Moines.

The Governor’s Office, the Iowa High School Athletic Association, and its title sponsor, the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation, are presenting this recognition program.

Jacob, the son of Jake and Sherri Isbell of Vinton, plans to major in physics at the University of Iowa.

Each Iowa high school was invited to select one student with the highest academic ranking, based on GPA.
