On March 29, 2015, Bethlehem Lutheran Church presented a gift of $102 to the Shellsburg Public Library. The Shellsburg Library opened its doors on September 19, 1970. It has occupied three different building since its inception. In 1992, the library broke ground at its present location of 110 Main Street and the building consists of two portable buildings owned previously by the school system. Throughout its history, the library continues to evolve as an important part of the Shellsburg area to young and old alike...this library is a place which is more than just books or several computers. It is a place where individuals can gather to explore, interact and imagine. Julie Kimm, Director of the Shellsburg Public Library accepted the gift at the church service.
