The Benton Soil & Water Conservation District Commissioners are happy to announce the 2015 Poster Contest Winners for Benton County. This contest is open to students K-12 who live in Benton County. Entries were judged in March by the Benton SWCD Commissioners.
This year’s contest Theme was “Local Heroes – Your Hardworking Pollinators”. When we think of what we ate for breakfast, lunch or dinner, we start to understand the importance of pollinators! We can thank pollinators for one in three mouthfuls of food and drink we consume. Pollinators face many threats, we all can do something to help protect them. Each poster entered in the contest depicted these thoughts.
Shakayla Lamer won First Place in this year’s contest. Hannah Hansen was awarded Second Place. Both are students at Norway Elementary School. Each was awarded a cash prize.
The Benton SWCD Commissioners congratulate our winners, and all the students who entered the contest this year. Their posters remind us that each of us can be good stewards of our natural resources at home and in our communities.
