With cake, family and even some time around the table with a puzzle, Keith and Janet Elwick celebrated their 79th anniversary on Sunday at Windsor Manor.
Married in January of 1939, Keith and Janet celebrated with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
After spending his career manufacturing and selling farm equipment, Keith shared many of his memories in some books published a few years ago. He has also been featured in other books about the history of agriculture. He also received the very first Silos and Smokestacks Golden Silo Award in 2012.
In 2014, the Elwicks celebrated their 75th anniversary, and among the guests was Dolly, a Caribbean native who joined the family decades ago. Dolly moved to Vinton in 1968, and the Elwicks helped her get established in the U.S.
