Et cetera : VSHS Awards presented, new NHS officers named

The outgoing NHS officers (back row) introduced the 2018-19 officers (front row) during the NHS wrap-up Wednesday. Local organizations gave members of the Vinton-Shellsburg Class of 2018 more than $130,000 in awards and scholarships during the annual Senior Awards Night Wednesday in the VSHS Auditorium. Seniors also received a variety of awards and honors from VSHS. School officials offered the following words of thanks: The Vinton-Shellsburg High School Senior Awards Night was held on Wednesday, May 9, in the V-S HS Auditorium.Over $133,000 of local money was awarded to 57 members of the Class of 2018! We are extremely grateful to the many businesses, civic organizations and individuals who so generously support our students in their pursuit of higher education. In addition, over 60 students were presented with numerous awards recognizing the academic, athletic and fine arts achievements of these students, as well as their dedication to community service.
