Finding Winnie                      By Lindsay Mattick                              Children's Easy Picture Book                              True Story of Winnie the Pooh                              Photographs Included                              Reviewed by Connie Bennett                                        I know that some of you will see this as "cheating", since it a children's book, and only one book at that, but I sincerely hope you read and enjoy this book and then share the story!  It truly is "for all ages"!           I'm assuming that everyone is familiar with Winnie the Pooh, who has been a children's favorite for decades.  The books and movies are not as popular as they once were, but are lovingly remembered by parents and grown children around the world.  It would be worth your time to check out a book or movie from the library and get acquainted with this classic.            But, back to the book at hand!  A young Canadian man is on his way to serve his country in the military, and at a train stop, sees a hunter with a bear cub.  The soldier, Harry Colebourn, buys the little bear for twenty dollars, and takes takes her to England, where she becomes the mascot for the Second Canadian Infantry Brigade.  Harry names her Winnipeg, "so we'll never be far from home", and calls her Winnie, for short.  The rest of the story, complete with pictures from 1914, is an enthralling story and a delight for anyone.           On the dedication page, the author writes to her son, "May this story always remind you of the impact one small, loving gesture can have."           May it remind all readers, as well.                                        Published October 2015                                        By Little, Brown and Co.                                        NY  Boston  USA
