Program Provides Education on College Financing and PlanningA new program for the 2023-2024 school year offering $1,000 scholarships is now open to Iowa residents.Iowa high school students and undergraduate college students, as well as their parents or guardians, may register for the ISL Education Lending Scholarship at www.IowaStudentLoan.org/Savings between now and Nov. 30. Scholarship recipients will be determined by a random drawing in December.The ISL Education Lending Scholarship not only provides registrants with a chance at much-needed funds for college, it also provides valuable information about ways to reduce college loan debt through the program."While we've offered similar programs in the past, this new scholarship is an expanded opportunity for both high school and college students to receive funds for their education," said Steve McCullough, president and CEO, Iowa Student Loan Liquidity Corporation, which sponsors the scholarship and provides education lending under the name ISL Education Lending. "And the valuable information they receive as part of the program can help make their existing college funding go further."Scholarship DetailsForty-five $1,000 awards will be provided as deposits to College Savings Iowa accounts. The scholarship program is open to Iowa residents who are either:
  • Iowa high school students.
  • Undergraduate college students.
  • Parents, guardians or others who hold a College Savings Iowa account benefiting an Iowa high school or undergraduate college student.
A student and parent or guardian both registering give the student two chances to win. Online registration is quick and easy. After registering, participants may continue to read three quick college planning and financing tips and answer a multiple choice question on each. For the remainder of the scholarship period, registrants receive emailed information on college planning and financing. A second scholarship period will be offered in the spring of 2024.Iowa Student Loan Liquidity Corporation is a nonprofit organization that provides the online resources and scholarship programs as part of its mission.
