Officers, Plans 2012 Theme

At its last regular meeting of the winter on Nov. 29, the Center Point Historical Society elected 2012 officers: president—Philip Andersen, vice president—Jalaa McNeal, secretary—Sharon Hannen, treasurer—Teresa Scheeler, historian—Virginia Benson, directors Lois Rowe and Linda Schlicht (joining Jon Novak already on the board.)

The group decided to call its 2012 railroading theme “All Aboard!” and to lengthen the Museum season, opening the first Sunday in May and closing after the last Sunday in October. Regular business meetings will be suspended for the winter. The next meeting will be March 27 at the Museum.

This winter members will be working on plans for the special railroading display. Anyone having railroad items, photos, stories or ideas to share is invited to contact a Society member. The group is especially looking for model trains to display.

Also in the planning stage is the second annual Cemetery Walk. Please contact a member of the Historical Society if you’d like to be a portrayer, a planner or other participator.
