United Way of East Central Iowa raised $10,581,690 - a new record - in the recently completed 2011 campaign. “This is fantastic news,” said Lois Buntz, CEO and President of United Way in East Central Iowa. “In addition we have $700,440 in additional revenue from grants and sponsorships, plus over $1.8 million in volunteer time. United Way also focus on volunteerism in Eastern Iowa. Our top two companies were: Rockwell Collins (Total raised: $2.125 million) Transamerica (Total raised: $1.78 million) General Mills and the Hall-Perrine Foundation donated more than half a million dollars each. “It’s been a great year,” said Tim Kintner, CEO and President of Bankers Trust and the 2011 campaign chair. “It was rewarding to help United Way have another record this year. I’m sure these funds will help the community as a whole.”
