By: Rachel Lebeaux Name: Nick Rossmiller Hometown: Portland, Ore. Nick is currently serving as a member of Cedar 6 with the AmeriCorps NCCC at the Vinton Campus. Nick is determined to serve communities and is driven by the ambition to make a positive change in people’s lives. He brings an analytical mind and focused demeanor as well as the desire to achieve goals. Nick wants to give back to the people of this country that have afforded him so many opportunities. Nick graduated from Sultana High School in May 2005 and California State University, Long Beach in May 2010 with a BS in Political Science. Prior to joining NCCC, Nick worked as a Park Employee outside of Portland. After his term of service, Nick is hoping to obtain a law degree and begin a career in civil service. Nick and his team are currently serving in Henryville, Ind. with Indiana Habitat for Humanity. They are assisting with preparations for the Blitz Build including, organizing volunteers and construction projects. Prior to this project, Cedar 6 was in Pine Ridge, S.D. working with the SuAnne Big Crow Boys and Girls Club, providing programming and oversight and Madison, Wis. assisting at the University of Wisconsin, Madison Arboretum with invasive species removal as well as collecting and planting seeds.
