Name: Megan Mullen

Hometown: Evansville, Indiana

Megan is serving as the Hickory 3 NCCC FEMA Corps Team Leader at the Vinton Campus. One of her close friends served with NCCC in the past and encouraged Megan to pursue a Team Leader position after college graduation.

Megan graduated from Central High School in 2008 and Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis in May 2012 where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy with a minor in Psychology. She hopes to serve multiple terms with NCCC before eventually returning to school for a graduate degree.

Megan chose to participate in AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps because she wanted to take some time off before graduate school in order to travel and pursue a life of community service. She says that four years of studying philosophy has prepared her to apply her knowledge through humanitarian pursuits.
