By: Rachel Lebeaux Jesse Hurley is a native Iowan, who currently resides in Cedar Rapids. Jesse received his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Geography from the University of Northern Iowa. He then received his Master’s in Organizational Leadership from St. Ambrose University. Jesse has a background of diverse professional experiences dedicated to serving communities. He served in the Iowa Army National Guard for eight years. Jesse also worked with youth offenders at a Youth Corrections Rehabilitation Center. He was the Executive Director of Healthy Lynn Care Network and the Operations Manager of HAACAP in which he worked with their housing grants and literary development program. Prior to his current position with the AmeriCorps NCCC, Jesse was in Real Estate. He has also been an Assistant High School Football coach for 20 seasons. Jesse has been hired as the Deputy Director for Unit Leadership at the North Central Region Campus. His responsibilities include overseeing member accomplishments and the implementation of service projects across the region. Jesse joined the NCCC to continue his commitment to civic duty. He was attracted to the organizations structure that incorporates aspects of the military with community service.
