Hometown: Miami, Fla.

John is serving as a member of the NCCC-FEMA Corps team Pine 7 at the Vinton Campus. He chose to participate in AmeriCorps NCCC-FEMA Corps because he wanted to put to use the skills that he learned during college while also gaining new experiences.

John graduated from Felix Varela Senior High School in 2008 and the University of Florida in 2012 where he majored in health science. After his service term ends he plans to attend graduate school for a master's degree in public health before eventually pursuing medical school.

John has completed one year of Humanitarian Assistance Training at Atlantic Hope, a training exercise done through Indian River State College in Fort Pierce, Florida. After his training he returned to the facility as a faculty trainer where he taught participants about humanitarian work.
