Vinton Garden Club Minutes 12/12/17

The Vinton Garden club, a member of National Garden Clubs, Inc., District II and Central Region met December 12th, 2017 at Pizza Ranch in Vinton. Members shared luncheon and then held their meeting.

Christmas in (Gulf Coast) Vinton

Vinton residents lined up along the street, watching lighted vehicles and trailers heading toward downtown in the annual Christmas parade. The Lions were in the parade.

Another gold coin for the red kettle; donation is worth $1,350

Most people who stop by the Salvation Army Red Kettle at local stores, including Fareway, leave a few coins or maybe some dollar bills. Those little donations from countless people add up to more than $10,000 each giving season, to help area families with things they need to help them get back on their feet.

A unique snowman and holiday decoration humor

Here are a couple more unique holiday displays in Vinton. John's Tires includes its large tire snowman, and at least two area homes have added the humorous inflated display of an outhouse for Santa.

Marzen Food drive continues through December

Licensed Massage Therapist Stacie Marzen is continuing the food drive at her office located at 215 N K Ave. until the end of this month. "The turn out has been great," says Marzen.
