The Iowa State Fair, Tractor Supply Co. and WHO News Radio 1040 are searching for six farm families to recognize with the Way We Live Award at the 2015 Fair, August 13-23.

 The following area students were named to the Dean's List at Clarke University for the fall 2014 semester. The list recognizes full-time Clarke students who have earned a 3.

Lindsay Gallo of Urbana, Iowa, was a December graduate of Morningside College. Gallo received a Master of Arts in Teaching degree. Morningside College is a small, private college in Sioux City, Iowa, that offers bachelor's degrees in a variety of disciplines, and graduate programs in education and nursing.

The following students were named to the fall 2014 Central College dean's list: Amy Andrews of Shellsburg is the daughter of Kenton and Pamela Andrews.

Vinton, IA – The Iowa Farm Bureau Federation (IFBF) will be offering 54 - $1,000 scholarships and the Benton County Farm Bureau Federation will be offering 4 - $500 scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend an accredited college for a two or four year degree.
