Jill Jaeger, from Aurora, Colo., is the support team leader for the Pine unit in AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps’s Class 20. This is her second term of service with FEMA Corps. Last year she served as a corps member on the team Hickory 6 at the Vinton campus. Jill will be providing administrative support to the Pine unit in addition to leading teams when needed.

“I choose to serve because I believe in social change and civic responsibility,” Jill said. “In the third grade an NCCC team volunteered at my school and I never forgot the experience of having 1-on-1 support at that difficult point in my life.”

Jill brings facilitation, service learning and storytelling skills to the support team leader position. These skills will come in handy as she supports Pine unit teams through the various projects they will take on throughout the year.

Jill graduated from William C. Hinkley High School in 2007 and Colorado State University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in health and exercise science and a master’s certificate in student affairs and higher education. After finishing her second term of service, she plans to attend graduate school for a master’s degree in women, gender and sexuality or non-profit management.
