Et cetera : AmeriCorps NCCC Class 20 Corps Member Spotlight: Alexis Pittman

Alexis Pittman, from Enfield, North Carolina is serving on team Oak 3 in AmeriCorps NCCC Class 20. She arrived in Vinton on February 11 to start her 10-month service term. Oak 3  is made up of nine people from across the country who will serve together around the Midwest.

Alexis says “I wanted learn and I wanted to build self-growth. .”

Before Alexis joined the NCCC program had just graduated college and waiting to start her service term with NCCC.

Oak 3’s second round project is at Headwaters Science Center, in  Bemidji, Minnesota

Oak 3 will be assisting the Headwaters Science Center by serving as docents on the museum floor for school field trips. In addition, the team will assist with various exhibit and museum related projects such as participant surveys. Headwaters Science Center has partnered with Beltrami County Food Shelf, where the team will assist in starting a garden and help around the food shelf and warehouse.
