Vinton Garden Club member of National Garden Clubs, Inc., District II and Central Region met at 11:15 September 23, 2015 at the Ray House in Vinton for a covered dish dinner with speaker Bob Moen giving program on the history of Ray House and a tour of the house. Fran Stueck did the tour through the gardens.
President Fran Stueck called the meeting to order at 12:30. Six members recited the Pledge of Allegiances and the Conservation Pledge. Roll call question is What was your favorite moment of the tour. Secretary Joyce Bratten read the August meeting minutes. There was no corrections so minutes will stand approved as read. Treasurer Sharen Stueck gave the treasurers report. No more questions on Treasurers report so it will be filed for audit.

Committee reports:
Cards: Anne- one card to Joyce. Club all signed card for Cam Wood.
Garden Therapy- Luanna, Michelle and Susie gave report on September 9,2015 of going to Lutheran Home to help residents make small arrangements for their rooms from the flowers that the Garden Club members Sharen, Luanna, Susie, Kelly, Anne, Fran and Michelle brought from their gardens. They ended up making 42 designs. Everyone had a great time.
National Gardener: Kelly-Members are asked to subscribed to the National Gardner.
Fran asked members to check Tilford flowerbed, BlueStar marker flowerbed and Schrebring flowerbed to dig up weeds and deadhead plants. After Central Region Convention club will have a work day and go to the 218 park to paint. Rosie reported on some new posts that are getting rotten out there.
Central Region Convention is coming next week October 3-5 at The Hotel Kirkwood. The club is needed to help with duties during the meeting.
New Business:
Club members changed November 18, 2015 meeting to Rosie Boisen home. She will be hostess that month.
The October meeting will be a tour of the Cedar Ridge Winery at Solon with Michelle Gibson as hostess.
There was no more business.
Meeting was adjourned.
After the meeting the members finished making the favors that will be given out at the Monday breakfast October 5 at Central Region Convention. Members had a good time .
