The Center Point Friends of the Library book and fabric sale in September gave a big boost to Friends’ spirits and bank account. The sale made more than $1500.
What made it possible was a generous donation of fabric and other sewing items from the family of the late Jim and Arametta Romine of Center Point. Jim was secretary of the Center Point Library Board and Arametta had also served for years on the Board.
The Romine donation was especially well timed because Friends of the Library was scraping the bottom of its bank balance barrel after its donations and pledges to the Library building fund.
Besides Friends members, those helping with the sale were: Andrew Sleege of CPU Boy Scout Troop 55, Connie Leeper, Marce Sires, Judy Wall, Jodi Meader, Michelle Pulvermacher and Sue Margretz.
Friends reviewed the sale at its regular October meeting and also talked about future fundraising events including the spring used book sale and a possible garden walk in the summer.
