I recently read 'Atomic Habits' by James Clear, a nonfiction book designed to help the reader develop good habits and break bad ones. Clear's backstory is inspiring; in high school he was on his way towards a promising athletic career when an injury left him in a coma. He recovered and went on to play baseball at Denison University and was named an ESPN Academic All American. He attributes much of his success to the development and maintenance of good habits, using processes he describes in the book.

These days we are bombarded with advice on everything under the sun - a complete information overload. When it comes to meeting our goals, in my opinion it is less often a matter of knowing what to do, and more a question of how to put into practice what we already know. What I appreciate about this book is that if you are serious about a particular goal, you will come away from the book with a clear plan on how to achieve it.

'Atomic Habits' was published in 2018 and currently has 4.32/5 stars on goodreads.com. It is available for checkout at the Vinton Public Library.

Happy reading,

Kelly
