Regina Rosenau, from Washington, D.C., is a member of Cedar 1 in NCCC’s Class 19. She arrived in Vinton on February 5, 2013, to start her 10-month service term on a team of people between the ages of 18 and 24. Cedar 1 is made up of seven people from across the country, and they are serving together in a number of service projects across the North Central Region throughout their term.
“I want to give back to my country,” Regina said. She joined NCCC as a way to fulfill that desire.
Regina brings several skills with her to NCCC, which help her be successful throughout her term with the program. One of those skills is that she is a hard worker.
Prior to joining NCCC, Regina was serving in another AmeriCorps program, City Year, in Washington, D.C. She also graduated from West Springfield High School in 2010. After finishing her term with the program, Regina isn’t sure what she wants to do, but is hoping that NCCC will give her a better idea.
Cedar 1 just completed a project that ran from June 10 to 26 with the Science Station in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Cedar 1 was assisting the Science Center with experiential learning at a science based summer camp program by serving as classroom assistants and organizing supplies for the camp.
