Elizabeth Hearn of Urbana graduated from Milwaukee School of Engineering during the Winter 2020 Commencement ceremony. Hearn received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

Amy Edison, Vinton resident, has been appointed to the Early Childhood Iowa (ECI) State Board as a citizen member. Edison’s term will begin in June 2020 and lasts three years.

Diamond Vogel and Keep Iowa Beautiful announced the grant awards for the 2020 Paint Iowa Beautiful program. The program provides free paint to a wide variety of public service projects throughout Iowa.

At this time, we're all concentrating on our physical health. We might even be worried about our mental health. We will be away from our church families for a time, but we can still stay in touch.

 The Benton County Extension Office along with the members of Benton County 4-H would like to take this opportunity to thank all the adult and youth volunteers that work so hard all year to make the 4-H program possible.

Indian Hills Community College has released the names of the students who were on the college’s academic Honor Roll for the 2019-20 Winter Term.  To be included on the Honor Roll an IHCC student must be enrolled fulltime and have a grade point average for the term of 3.

The deadline to submit grant applications to the Benton County Community Foundation for its 2020 grant cycle is 11:59 p.m. March 15, 2020. Grants are awarded to projects in the following areas: art and culture, community betterment, education, environment, health, historic preservation and human service.
