AmeriCorps NCCC Class 19 Corps Member Spotlight: Jill Ament

By: Rebecca Bigler Jill Ament, from Gatesville, Texas, is a member of Maple 4 in NCCC’s Class 19. She arrived in Vinton on February 5, 2013, to start her 10-month service term on a team of people between the ages of 18 and 24.

Schulte Brothers Farm of Watkins wins State Fair Herdsman Award

Schulte Bros. of Watkins earned the Herdsman Award on Saturday at the conclusion of the Dairy Cattle show at the 2013 Iowa State Fair. The Herdsman Award recognizes the top exhibitors and ranks them based on the cleanliness of stalls, animals and aisles in the Boulevard of Dairy Breeds as well as the upkeep and sanitation of equipment over the course of the dairy shows.
