Et cetera : Hendryx signs with Hawkeye Community College Dance Team

Allissa Hendryx signed with the Hawkeye Community College Dance Team on Wednesday.

The Hawkeye Dance team performs during area events and competes at the Iowa State Dance Team Association statewide competition. The Dance Team is a competitive team and will compete at an advanced level. 

Hendryx has danced for the past 13 years and says she chose Hawkeye because it is close to home and that they have a wonderful nursing program, she also cited that the tuition is very affordable.

"Dancing at the collegiate level is a good challenge for me and a great way to start new relationships in college," she said, "and I enjoy performing and being able to be part of a team."

Michelle Wedemeyer, has been Allissa's coach for the past 3 years and said of Alissa, "she is a very talented dancer and a great leader on the team. I’ve loved watching her grow as a dancer and person over the last three years. Hawkeye is lucky to have her and I look forward to continuing watching her be successful at the collegiate level."
