Today’s spotlight is Mariel Fonteyn who hails from Eagle River, AK.  Working in the field as the Team Leader of Maple 6, Mariel has a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from the University of Alaska Anchorage as well as her Masters in International Development from the University of Kent Brussels School of International Studies.  Last year, Mariel was completing her Masters degree in Brussels. This is Mariel’s first year in AmeriCorps NCCC and she decided to serve because everyone she knows who has been involved with AmeriCorps has loved it, and after finishing school she decided that spending a year getting a more in depth view of nonprofit organizations would help her personally and professionally.
