Maple 3 began the first half of their fourth round project in Minot, ND assisting in the disaster relief efforts after a historic flood. They partnered with two other Maple teams and were the fifth team to be sent to Minot to aid flood efforts.
The team worked with two organizations, All Hands and Nechama, six days a week for three weeks in the areas affected by the flooding of the Souris River. With All Hands, the team mucked and gutted the flood affected homes and cleared out debris in order for the home to dry out and be sanitized. The NCCC team then worked with Nechama to clean and sanitize the home, in hopes that it could be rebuilt next year.
The project was truly rewarding for all the members of Maple 3. They feel honored to be able to represent the NCCC in its most positive light and being able to serve a community with so much need. It was an experience that none of the members will ever forget.
