Et cetera : A Tribute to the “Heroes Among Us”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Waterloo, Iowa  –  The annual “Heroes Among Us” event is about ordinary men, women, and young people who took extraordinary action in a time of need. And in just a few weeks, Eastern Iowans will have a rare opportunity to meet and thank the heroes who have truly made a difference in our communities. 

 

The 2009 “Heroes Among Us” recipients will be honored for their heroism on March 25, 2010, at Park Place Event Centre in Cedar Falls, and you are invited to attend. During this tribute, the 2009 honorees will be recognized for their courage and strength as they risked their own lives to save others or worked to improve our communities.   Doors open before 7:00 a.m. The event begins at 7:30 a.m.

 

“Be a part of one of Eastern Iowa’s most celebrated and talked about events,” Heroes Among Us Co-Chair Alyssa Becthold stated. “People want to hear good, positive and uplifting stories, and Heroes Among Us is the perfect venue to do it.”

The 2009 “Heroes Among Us” have truly earned this award by providing CPR to a toddler, coming to the rescue of a young man trapped under a car, and honoring the memory of our veterans. Their complete stories will be shared the morning of the event.
