NCCC team Maple 7 is camping and working at Taltree Arboretum and Gardens in Valparaiso, Indiana. The team spends their time battling several different invasive plants in order to preserve the natural beauty of the Arboretum and Gardens.
The arboretum is plagued with several invasive species plants. Throughout the 10 acres of land the main terrors include: multi-flora rose, oriental bittersweet, autumn olive, honeysuckle and garlic mustard. The team has removed over 1,526 cubic feet of invasive species.
Taltree Arboretum & Gardens is a public charity, offering over 360 acres of formal gardens, woodlands, savanna wetlands and prairies with nearly four miles of hiking trails that allow visitors to experience the natural biodiversity of the landscape.
